The Shannonville Agricultural Society is a small group of volunteers that has been presenting the Shannonville Worlds Fair since 1856.   Like many organizations we lost a lot of traction during the COVID-19 lockdowns, but we did manage to host a successful fair in 2022.    It was a financial loss but our come-back saw a positive response with new members, numerous volunteers and community partnerships with the Tyendinaga Township.

We are a proud group, keen to continue this agricultural tradition in Tyendindaga Township.   We hope to attract the next generation of farm and rural people to an entertaining and educational event.    We are also proud of our efforts to keep entrance fees low and provide free entertainment and educational activities.    We have no carnival rides, but we do provide a soccer field full of children’s yard games, face-painting, pony rides, a milking cow, old fashion children’s & adult games, 4-H Club animal shows and a train ride through the fair grounds, all for free.   Of course, all of these events come at an ever-increasing cost, so we rely heavily on business and community sponsors to help make this happen.

In the past, you may have purchased an ad in our traditional Fair Book.     We are replacing the Fair Book with a simple tri-fold Fair Flyer providing all the needed details for this year’s fair.   We have left one panel available for a single sponsor.  So instead of the Fair Book, we are now promoting “event sponsors”.  

Your past generosity has been greatly appreciated and we do hope you will be able to help us again.

The next page describes your opportunity and options to support the Shannonville World’s Fair in 2023.  If you prefer to not be an “event sponsor” that fine too, as you can be a General Sponsor for any amount you choose, and your sponsorship will be listed at the entrance to the Exhibit Hall and on our website.

EVENT SPONSOR OPTIONS - 2023 FAIR

1. Fair Flyer – A small tri-fold flyer that promotes the fair, lists events and timing of daily activities, contact info and direction to website for application forms, rules, etc.    The Fair Flyer will be distributed to Township mailboxes and handed out at the Fair entrance.    5000 copies will be printed.  A single colour ad space 8.5” x 3.5” landscape view will cover the open back page.

Sponsor Fee: $300. (Item closed as sponsorship received from Deerhaven)

2. Fair Train – Car No. 1 will have a 4’ x 2’ sheet of plywood to mount a double sided sponsor ad. The sponsor will provide at their choice a double sided vinyl banner or 2 single sided signs that can be mounted in a 2’ x 4’ support.   The train runs all day every day of the fair.   Fee and sign / banner to be paid and delivered by Thursday evening.

Sponsor Fee: $400. for entire fair, (Item closed as sponsorship received from Boyers of Napanee)

3. Tractor Pull – Sponsor Promotions to include their signs and scheduled Public Address announcements.   All signs provided by each sponsor, and we will mount them on security fence in front of bleachers.   Fees and banner/signs delivered by Thursday evening.

Sponsor Fee: $200. For a 2’ x 4’ single-sided sign (plywood / vinyl / equivalent banner)

4. Demo Derby – Sponsor Promotions to include their signs and scheduled Public Address announcement.   All signs provided by each sponsor, and we will mount them on security (snow) fence in front of bleachers.    Fees and banner/sign delivered by sponsor by Friday evening.

Sponsor Fee: $200. For a 2’ x 4’ single-sided sign (plywood / vinyl / equivalent banner)

5. Horse Show – Sponsor Promotions to include their signs and scheduled Public Address announcements.   All signs provided by each sponsor, and we will mount them on west fence of show ring.    Fees and banner/sign delivered by sponsor by Friday evening.

Sponsor Fee: $100. For a 2’ x 4’ single-sided sign (plywood / vinyl / equivalent sign)

                      : $200. For a 4’ x 8’ single-sided sign (plywood / vinyl / equivalent sign)

6. Children’s Activity Centre – This area is located in a soccer field and includes Inflatables, Hitched Games (about 15 yard games) and our Mini Putt golf course.    This is an open children’s activity centre and the activities cost the fair board over $3000 to deliver.    Multiple sponsors can participate by providing their signage no bigger than 2’ x 4’.    Activities are all day and each day.  Fees and banner/sign delivered by sponsor by noon on Friday.

Sponsor: $100. For a 2’ x4’ single-sided sign (plywood / vinyl / equivalent sign)

7. Face Painting – The Face Painter will be working specific hours on Saturday only and is extremely popular and will be placed in the Children’s Activity Park.    Sponsor can provide their own sign of any reasonable size and we will place at location.

Sponsor: $100.

8. Zucchini Race – This a new event and should be a fun time.    Fully sponsored by Shannonville RaceWay and Chisholms Lumber
